This 2.5 inch laptop drive has desktop-class performance with SATA 3 Gb/s, 500GB, 16 MB Cache, 7200 RPM and Low power consumption.
The new WD Scorpio Black has half the price of the hybrid Momentus XT from Seagate, and has a very good performance as well.
Conclusion:
This drive was better than the Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 and the WD Scorpio Blue notebook drive in almost every test. It also has a
better overall performance when compared to the Seagate Momentus XT hybrid SSD/hard drive, compared to its first run performance, but after
three runs, the new Flash-infused notebook drive from Seagate was sometimes twice as fast as any drive we tested here. The Momentus
XT is app. double the price of the WD Scorpio Black but that's a lot lower than the average 256GB SSD.
The WD Scorpio Black is one of the best performing 2.5" drives on the market right now. For app. $70 - $80 or so, you'll get 500GB
7200RPM storage for your laptop which is a pretty good deal.
