The Swiftpoint optical mouse is a little device that looks like a work of Art. This tiny, lightweight mouse might be an alternative for touchpads.
It uses a small USB "dock", with wireless receiver, that extends app. half an inch when inserted into your laptop's USB port.
The device was tested with an ASUS EeePC 1005PE netbook. This mouse is easy to operate and better for long computing sessions than the usual touchpad. The buttons are well placed as ius the use the scroll wheel.
Some downsides: There's a Parking Accessory, an adhesive film that fits over the wrist rest of your laptop, with a small magnetic square that lets you "park" the Swiftpoint in the middle of it. Unfortunately, while this Parking Accessory could be useful for a larger laptop, it doesn't work for a small netbook. In addition, the Swiftpoint's price is very high.
